Spokane County Noxious Weed Info
The term ‘Noxious Weed‘ refers to non-native plants that have been accidentally introduced to Spokane County through human actions and threaten agricultural crops, local ecosystems or fish and wildlife habitat.
A state law passed in 1969 mandated that all counties in Washington have a program to combat noxious weeds. Under this law, landowners are required to control or eradicate noxious weeds on their land.
The Spokane County Noxious Weed Control Board is responsible for implementing and enforcing a program to combat noxious weeds in our county. It is their job to continually survey the land throughout the county and notify landowners of infestation of noxious weeds.
